Verification on 2026-09-15 checked 12 auctions across 6 categories against the public auction page: title, price, tax note, buy-now price, bid count, seller and status matched on 12 of 12, and the search row price matched the full record on 12 of 12. Store prices on Yahoo! Auctions come in two figures - this API always gives you the one the bidder pays
A store listing on Yahoo! Auctions has a price before consumption tax and a price with tax, and the auction record carries both under names that make the pre-tax one look like the price. Read the wrong one and every store listing is about 9% too cheap while still looking like a valid number. Here price is always tax included, on search rows and on the full record alike, and the pre-tax figure and the tax rate sit beside it. Individual sellers charge no tax, so their price_excluding_tax is null.

Can I get what items actually sold for on Yahoo! Auctions?
Yes. sold/search returns sold auctions (落札相場) with the price each item sold for, tax included, the bid count, the end date, condition and seller, and price_statistics with the average, lowest and highest sold price across every matching sale, not only the page you fetched. Search by keyword, category or seller id, and narrow by condition, store or individual seller and price. On 2026-09-15 the oldest sale returned for a common keyword ended on 2026-03-19, so the history reaches back about six months.
Is the price tax included?
Always. Store listings have a pre-tax and a tax-included figure, and price is the tax-included one on every action. For store listings product/detail also returns price_excluding_tax and tax_rate (10). Checked against the public auction page on 12 auctions on 2026-09-15: 12 of 12 matched, including the tax note the page prints.
Does it return the shipping cost?
Yes, to the prefecture you choose. Pass shipping_destination as a prefecture number from 1 to 47 (13 Tokyo, 27 Osaka, 47 Okinawa); it defaults to Tokyo, as on the site. Search rows then carry shipping_fee where the seller has fixed one - 34 to 45 of every 50 rows across six categories measured - and fees change by destination. product/detail returns the shipping methods, the fee to your prefecture, who pays, the handling time and whether anonymous delivery is available. Store listings price postage from their own tables, so their fee comes back null rather than a guessed number, and listings with free shipping come back as 0.
What is the difference between price and buy_now_price?
price is the current bid on an auction (or the listed price on a fixed-price listing). buy_now_price is the 即決 price a buyer can pay to end the auction immediately, null when the seller did not set one. On a fixed-price listing the two are equal and is_fixed_price is true.
Why is the seller name empty on search rows?
Because Yahoo! Auctions masks it there. Search rows carry the seller id, the positive-rating percentage and whether it is a store; the name is null rather than the asterisks the site shows. product/detail and seller/listings return the seller's display name, and where the site masks even that, the name stays null.
Some results link to Yahoo!フリマ instead of an auction. Why?
Yahoo! Auctions mixes Yahoo!フリマ fixed-price flea-market listings into its search results. They come back with listing_type fleamarket and a link to the flea-market site, and they are not auctions, so product/detail returns NOT_FOUND for them with that explanation. Filter them out with seller_type individual,store. How many appear depends on the keyword: 22 of 50 rows for iphone 13, none for watches, on 2026-09-15.
Are there product reviews or ratings?
No - every auction is a single object, so rating, review_count and rating_scale are null rather than invented. The reputation that exists is the seller's: product/detail returns the positive percentage, the good and bad rating counts, and store, best-store, excellent-seller and identity-verified badges.
How deep can I page?
Up to 100 listings per call and results up to position 15,000 plus one page; deeper pages are rejected with a clear error instead of an empty answer. total_results is the site's own count, and a keyword with no results comes back ok with an empty list.
What does Yahoo! Auctions NOT publish?
No barcode: no JAN, EAN or GTIN on any of the 12 verified records, so gtin is null. No product reviews. No seller name on search rows. No shipping fee for store listings or for listings whose fee is decided after the sale. Bidder identities are masked by the site and are not returned; bid_count and bidder_count are.
