How the About You API works

About You is a normal ReefAPI surface — the same four rules that hold for every other engine on the key.

01
Authenticate
x-api-key header

No OAuth app, no request signing, no per-site account. One key covers all 530 engines.

02
Call
POST /aboutyou/v1/…

Every route is a POST with a JSON body. Parameters are validated against the published schema before anything is charged.

03
Pay
3 credit per call

Credits, not seats. Failed and blocked calls are never charged, and cache hits cost nothing.

04
Read
{ ok, data, meta, error }

One envelope everywhere. meta carries latency_ms, record_count and the endpoint that answered.

From a keyword to stock per size

Find products, then open the ones you track.

01search?query=rotes kleid&gender=women
POSTsearch?query=rotes kleid&gender=women

32 rows with product_id, price, original_price and coupon_price; next_cursor for more.

02product?product_id=24932974
POSTproduct?product_id=24932974

Every size with its stock quantity, article number and seller.

03category?category_id=20236&on_sale=true
POSTcategory?category_id=20236&on_sale=true

Reduced dresses with the brand facet and its product counts.

A price and stock record per product and size, with sale and coupon prices kept apart.

What one About You product returns

Real results read on 2026-10-15. Eight ids taken from search and category rows opened the same product card with the same price and struck price (8 of 8).

productwhat the shop showsprice / original_priceother fields
PUMA Sneaker 'Bloom', product card69,90 € · 89,90 € (SALE)69.90 / 89.9012 sizes, stock 118 in total, sold by ABOUT YOU

price is what the shop charges without a code, sale reductions included. A coupon figure shown on a tile is returned as coupon_price and never as price (72 of 366 rows in our sample showed one). Prices are in euros from the German shop.

FAQ

Have a question? We got answers.

The questions people actually ask before wiring up About You.

Get a free key →
Which prices does it return?▾

price (the shelf price, sale reductions included), original_price (the struck price when the item is reduced) with the computed discount_percent, coupon_price when the shop advertises a coupon on the item, and price_without_tax. In our 2026-10-15 sample 138 of 366 rows were reduced and 72 carried a coupon price.

Does it give stock per size?▾

Yes, on product: every size with its stock quantity, article number, price and the seller that ships it. Listing rows carry the sizes still available but no quantities.

How many results can I get?▾

Both search and category return next_cursor; pass it back as cursor for the next rows, with the same filters. search returns up to 100 rows a call (about 30 when the shop sends the words to a brand or category page), category about 30 a page with the shop's own total. In our test three further pages of women's jeans shared no product with the pages before, and the brand filter held on every row.

Which filters are there?▾

On category: brand (as slug-id, taken from the brands facet of the same answer, e.g. levi-s-226) and on_sale. In our test women's jeans went from 19 910 products to 673 with the Levi's filter and 10 816 with on_sale. On search: the shop section (women, men, kids). Sorting is not offered: the shop ignored the sort we tested.

Does it cover other About You countries?▾

This version reads the German shop (aboutyou.de) in euros. Other storefronts were not measured and are not offered.

Who is the seller?▾

Each size names its seller as the shop prints it (for example ABOUT YOU), and sold_by_about_you says whether every size is sold by About You itself.

How fast is it?▾

In our 2026-10-15 run every positive call succeeded (17 of 17). Median times were about 6.4 seconds for search, 3.1 seconds for category and 3.4 seconds for product, with the slowest calls between 11 and 13 seconds.

What is the About You API?▾

About You API is a ReefAPI endpoint group for germany's about you fashion shop as json: keyword search, category listings with brand and sale filters, and full product cards with the shelf price, struck price, every size with its stock and seller. It returns live JSON through POST requests under /aboutyou/v1.

Is the About You API free to try?▾

Yes. ReefAPI starts with 1,000 free credits, no card required. About You calls use the same shared credit balance as every other ReefAPI engine.

Do I need an About You login or account?▾

No login to About You is needed for the API response. You call ReefAPI with your x-api-key header, and the playground can run live examples before you create a production key.

How fresh is the About You data?▾

The page example is captured from a live search call, and production requests fetch live data through ReefAPI rather than a static sample.

How many credits does the About You API use?▾

About You actions currently cost 3 credits per successful call. Failed or blocked calls are free. All APIs draw from one credit pool.

Can I call About You from an AI assistant or MCP client?▾

Yes. Connect ReefAPI once through MCP and your assistant can call aboutyou actions with the same key, credit pool and JSON envelope used by normal REST requests.

Is the About You API an About You scraper?▾

It is the managed alternative to a DIY About You scraper. Instead of building and maintaining your own scraper — proxies, headless browsers, captcha and constant breakage — you call one ReefAPI endpoint and get the same germany's about you fashion shop as json: keyword search, category listings with brand and sale filters, and full product cards with the shelf price, struck price, every size with its stock and seller back as clean JSON.

Try it on your own data before you pay anything

The call above is the real endpoint, not a recording. A free key gives you 1,000 credits, the other 529 APIs, and the same envelope everywhere.

Endpoints, parameters and credit costs on this page are read from the live catalog and cannot drift from what the API accepts. Field notes were captured on 2026-10-15.
