How the Boulanger API works

Boulanger is a normal ReefAPI surface — the same four rules that hold for every other engine on the key.

01
Authenticate
x-api-key header

No OAuth app, no request signing, no per-site account. One key covers all 491 engines.

02
Call
POST /boulanger/v1/…

Every route is a POST with a JSON body. Parameters are validated against the published schema before anything is charged.

03
Pay
2 or 3 credits per call

Credits, not seats. Failed and blocked calls are never charged, and cache hits cost nothing.

04
Read
{ ok, data, meta, error }

One envelope everywhere. meta carries latency_ms, record_count and the endpoint that answered.

What a Boulanger field actually contains

Fields that read differently from how they look. Every row was measured against live boulanger.com pages on 2026-10-14.

FieldWhat it holds
product_idThe number in boulanger.com/ref/<product_id>: 7 digits for products Boulanger sells (1243116), 10 digits for marketplace-only products (9001023316). The same value goes unchanged into product, delivery, store_stock and reviews; a product URL works too.
priceEuros including VAT, as the page prints it. It matched the printed price and the page's structured data on 10 of 10 products checked, and the search card on 14 of 14.
strikeout_price, strikeout_labelThe struck-through price and the words printed next to it: "Prix de référence" (shown with a -NN % badge) or "Ancien prix" (no badge). They are different kinds of reference and are never merged; null when the page shows no struck price.
eco_participation, private_copy_levyThe "dont 3,07€ d'éco-part." and "dont 16,80€ de copie privée" amounts printed under the price. They are already INCLUDED in price, not extra. Matched the printed amounts on 10 of 10 products. Private-copy levy exists only on storage devices (phones, tablets), so it is null on TVs and appliances.
offers[]Every offer for the product: Boulanger's own (is_boulanger true) and each marketplace seller's, in the site's order, each with its own price, struck price, levies and availability. One TV had 4 sellers from 649.00 to 734.99 €; a smartphone had 12 offers.
promotions[].is_odr, odr_amountis_odr is true when the promotion links a manufacturer-rebate form (offre de remboursement) or says "remboursés"; odr_amount is the euro amount printed in its label ("100€ remboursés à l'achat d'un Pixel 11" → 100). The price after the rebate is not computed: the rebate is claimed from the brand after purchase.
delivery optionsComputed by Boulanger for the postal_code you send (default 75001, Paris): mode, carrier, earliest date window, price and price before discount. Stores and pickup points change with the postal code: Paris and Marseille returned different stores for the same product.
store_stock.stores[]The stores Boulanger lists as still holding units of the offer, nearest to your postal code first, with quantity and distance in km. Marketplace offers are never in stores and return an empty list.

Prices are in euros including French VAT. The same postal code read from two different networks in the same minute returned identical delivery options, dates and prices on 3 of 3 products.

Boulanger coverage, measured

Every number below was read from live boulanger.com responses on 2026-10-14, in two runs of 66 and 67 calls; the second answered 67 of 67 as expected.

Market

France, prices in euros including VAT. "television" matched 669 products, "ordinateur portable" 2,217, "machine a cafe" 997, "lave linge" 956; the smartphone category 2,009.

Filters that bite

"television" 669 → Samsung 182, Samsung sold by Boulanger 116, marketplace seller EasyLounge 12, 200 to 400 € 115 (every row in range), refurbished 89, 4 stars and up 257, 5 stars 66, present in one store 17. An unknown brand returns 0, not the full list.

Prices and levies

Price, struck price, its label and the éco-participation and private-copy amounts matched the product page on 10 of 10 products and the search card on 14 of 14; price matched the page's structured data on 10 of 10.

Marketplace

Every seller's offer is in product.offers: up to 12 offers measured on one smartphone, 4 sellers on one television (649.00 to 734.99 €).

Delivery and stock

Options, dates and prices depend on the postal code you send (Paris 4 options, Marseille 3 for the same TV) and were identical from two networks for the same postal code on 3 of 3 products. store_stock listed up to 10 stores with quantities.

Limits

40 products per page; marketplace sellers' own ratings and per-seller shipping fees are not in the product record (delivery with offer_id gives an offer's delivery price); the 3x/4x payment simulation is not returned.

FAQ

Have a question? We got answers.

The questions people actually ask before wiring up Boulanger.

Get a free key →
Do I need a Boulanger account?▾

No. Everything is read logged out, and you call reefapi.com from anywhere.

Which search filters are there, and do they really filter?▾

Brand, seller, price range, condition (new or refurbished), minimum rating, store presence, three sort orders and paging. Each was checked against the unfiltered count in the same run: "television" 669 → Samsung 182, seller EasyLounge 12, seller Boulanger 380, 200 to 400 € 115 (every row in range), refurbished 89, 4 stars and up 257, 5 stars 66, one store 17.

What happens with a brand or seller that does not exist?▾

You get an empty result with total 0, never the unfiltered list. The search answer also returns the brands, sellers and stores the source offers for that search, with their counts, so you can pass a value that exists.

Can I tell Boulanger's own offers from marketplace sellers?▾

Yes. Every search row has seller and is_marketplace, and product lists each seller's offer separately with is_boulanger. Filtering seller=Boulanger returned only Boulanger's own offers (380 of 669 TVs).

Is the éco-participation added on top of the price?▾

No. Boulanger prints it as "dont X€" (of which X €): it is part of the displayed price. The API returns the amount separately so you can subtract it if you need the price without it.

Does delivery depend on where I call from?▾

No, on the postal_code you pass. 75001 returned Paris stores and four options, 13001 returned Marseille stores and three options, for the same television.

How many reviews can I read?▾

All of them, 1 to 50 per call with page; a television with 244 reviews returned pages of 20 with no overlap. Sorts: newest, best or worst rating, most helpful, with photos first.

How deep does search go?▾

40 products per page until the source's total; a page past the last one returns an empty list with a note. "ordinateur portable" listed 2,217 products, the smartphone category 2,009.

What is the Boulanger API?▾

Boulanger API is a ReefAPI endpoint group for france's electronics and appliance retailer: prices with éco-participation, every marketplace offer, delivery and store pickup by postal code, store stock and reviews. It returns live JSON through POST requests under /boulanger/v1.

Is the Boulanger API free to try?▾

Yes. ReefAPI starts with 1,000 free credits, no card required. Boulanger calls use the same shared credit balance as every other ReefAPI engine.

Do I need a Boulanger login or account?▾

No login to Boulanger is needed for the API response. You call ReefAPI with your x-api-key header, and the playground can run live examples before you create a production key.

How fresh is the Boulanger data?▾

The page example is captured from a live search call, and production requests fetch live data through ReefAPI rather than a static sample.

How many credits does the Boulanger API use?▾

Boulanger actions currently cost 2-3 credits per successful call. Failed or blocked calls are free. All APIs draw from one credit pool.

Can I call Boulanger from an AI assistant or MCP client?▾

Yes. Connect ReefAPI once through MCP and your assistant can call boulanger actions with the same key, credit pool and JSON envelope used by normal REST requests.

Try it on your own data before you pay anything

The call above is the real endpoint, not a recording. A free key gives you 1,000 credits, the other 490 APIs, and the same envelope everywhere.

Endpoints, parameters and credit costs on this page are read from the live catalog and cannot drift from what the API accepts. Field notes were captured on 2026-10-14.
