Get OpenSooq classifieds from 18 Middle East and North Africa countries in one API
The OpenSooq API returns the classifieds of OpenSooq, one of the largest general marketplaces of the Middle East and North Africa, as clean JSON in three actions, one country site per call.
3 active endpoints. Every call is 3 credits.
- POST/opensooq/v1/search
- POST/opensooq/v1/listing
- POST/opensooq/v1/categories
What OpenSooq endpoints does ReefAPI ship?
3 live read endpoints. Read-only data API: no writes, no account actions, no dashboard access on the target site.
OpenSooq API
3 of 3 endpoints, ready to run
Search one country's OpenSooq ads and get 30 a page with price and currency, attribute chips, city and neighbourhood, posting date, promotion status, photo and seller, plus OpenSooq's own total.
// Press "Try it" and this pane shows exactly what the // live site returned this second — including an empty // result, if that is the truth. No key, no account.
How the OpenSooq API works
OpenSooq is a normal ReefAPI surface — the same four rules that hold for every other engine on the key.
No OAuth app, no request signing, no per-site account. One key covers all 491 engines.
Every route is a POST with a JSON body. Parameters are validated against the published schema before anything is charged.
Credits, not seats. Failed and blocked calls are never charged, and cache hits cost nothing.
One envelope everywhere. meta carries latency_ms, record_count and the endpoint that answered.
Track used-car asking prices for one model in Saudi Arabia
categories gives the make and model ids of the car form, search filters on them with OpenSooq's own counts, and listing opens each ad for the full specification.
car_make values with ids; Car_Year and Kilometers_Cars ranges.
The make's models with ids (79 for Toyota).
30 ads a page with price in SAR, mileage, city and seller.
Make, model, year, kilometres, fuel, gearbox, body, colour and the description.
A dated list of the model's live asking prices in Saudi riyals by year, mileage and city, each linked to its ad and seller.

}Which price and which currency
On sites that accept several currencies, OpenSooq prints the search card's price converted into the site's display currency. The API keeps both currencies apart; the examples were measured on 2026-10-14.
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| price + currency | The number the search card prints and the currency it is printed in | 26,825,000 IQD (an Iraqi listing) |
| listing_currency | The currency the seller listed the item in | USD |
| price_converted | true when the card shows OpenSooq's conversion rather than the seller's own figure | true |
| listing_price (listing) | The seller's own price, as the listing page headline shows it | 18,500 USD |
| prices[] (listing) | Every price the listing carries, with currency | IQD 26,825,000 · USD 18,500 |
| price_published | false when the ad shows no price | false (a 2026 Honda City, Jordan) |
Lebanon printed every measured card in LBP while all 30 sellers listed in USD; Iraq, Libya, Palestine, Yemen and Sudan mix currencies the same way. The other 12 sites use a single currency. Read listing_currency and price_converted before comparing prices across ads.
What was measured on 2026-10-14
Two live runs: page 1 of all 18 country sites, 21 filtered, sorted and unfiltered control searches, the last page and one past it, 4 filter-form lookups, 15 ads opened in full from 10 different searches, and 11 wrong inputs.
18 of 18 sites answered in both runs; about 148,600 ads in Jordan, 94,700 Oman, 88,900 Iraq, 50,400 Libya, 29,500 Kuwait, 28,700 UAE, 22,900 Bahrain, 21,900 Egypt, 21,800 Saudi Arabia, 19,400 Yemen, 9,100 Palestine, and between 720 and 1,800 in Qatar, Morocco, Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Algeria and Tunisia
30, with OpenSooq's own total; a page past the last returns no rows
The search card price matched the opened ad on 15 of 15 ads and matched the price in the ad page's own structured data on 14 of 15; the 15th ad shows no price and is returned as null
Printed currency resolved on 1,146 of 1,146 priced rows in English and Arabic; 63 of 1,194 rows carried a converted price (Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Yemen, Sudan)
Totals, order and prices were identical when the same search was made from four different network locations
Median 1.2 seconds for search, 1.7 seconds for listing and 1.0 second for categories; the slowest of 63 successful calls in the second run took 2.7 seconds
The full phone number (OpenSooq reveals it to logged-in users only); the seller's own-currency price on search cards (it is on listing)

Get a free key →Which countries does the OpenSooq API cover?▾
18 country sites, one per call: Jordan (jo), Saudi Arabia (sa), Kuwait (kw), Iraq (iq), Oman (om), Qatar (qa), Bahrain (bh), UAE (ae), Egypt (eg), Libya (ly), Lebanon (lb), Palestine (ps), Syria (sy), Yemen (ye), Sudan (sd), Morocco (ma), Algeria (dz) and Tunisia (tn). All 18 answered in both measurement runs on 2026-10-14, from about 720 listings in Tunisia to about 148,600 in Jordan.
Which currency are prices in?▾
price is the number the search card prints and currency is the currency printed next to it, for example JOD, SAR, AED or EGP. On Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Yemen and Sudan the card can show a converted figure: listing_currency tells you what the seller used, price_converted flags the difference, and the listing action returns the seller's own price and every price of the ad.
Do the filters really filter?▾
Each was compared with an unfiltered search in the same run. Jordan: iphone 5,127; in Amman 3,356; priced 100 to 500 JOD 2,690 (30 of 30 rows inside the range); with a price only 4,998. Mobile phones 8,613, Apple 4,644, Amman Al Gardens 219. Cars for sale 18,762, model year 2020 to 2022 2,300. One shop's listings 95. Saudi cars for sale 1,985, Toyota 366. A filter OpenSooq does not apply fails the call instead of returning the unfiltered list.
Are titles and descriptions translated?▾
No. They are the seller's own text, often Arabic. lang=en or lang=ar switches the labels OpenSooq adds itself (cities, categories, attribute names, relative dates).
Do I get the seller's phone number?▾
OpenSooq shows the number with its last two digits hidden and reveals it only to logged-in users. The API returns it exactly as OpenSooq publishes it, in phone_masked, together with the seller's id, name, shop name, rating and verification level.
How many results can one search return?▾
30 listings a page with OpenSooq's own total, last_page and has_more. Deep pages are served (page 1,000 of Jordan's whole site answered); a page past the last one returns no rows. Promoted ads are flagged and can fill the first pages of busy categories (90 of the first 90 Jordanian car ads were promoted).
How do I open one ad in full?▾
Take id and country from a search row and call listing, or pass the ad's opensooq.com URL. A deleted or expired ad, or an id asked on another country's site, returns NOT_FOUND.
How do I find category slugs and filter ids?▾
Call categories with a country, optionally a category and subcategory. It lists the categories and subcategories with slugs and counts, the cities with ids, the neighbourhoods of a city, and every filter key with its type, range and value ids. Car models appear once a make is given (79 Toyota models in Saudi Arabia).
What is the OpenSooq API?▾
OpenSooq API is a ReefAPI endpoint group for opensooq classifieds in 18 middle east and north africa countries as json: cars, property, phones and jobs with price, attributes, location and seller. It returns live JSON through POST requests under /opensooq/v1.
Is the OpenSooq API free to try?▾
Yes. ReefAPI starts with 1,000 free credits, no card required. OpenSooq calls use the same shared credit balance as every other ReefAPI engine.
Do I need an OpenSooq login or account?▾
No login to OpenSooq is needed for the API response. You call ReefAPI with your x-api-key header, and the playground can run live examples before you create a production key.
How fresh is the OpenSooq data?▾
The page example is captured from a live search call, and production requests fetch live data through ReefAPI rather than a static sample.
How many credits does the OpenSooq API use?▾
OpenSooq actions currently cost 3 credits per successful call. Failed or blocked calls are free. All APIs draw from one credit pool.
Can I call OpenSooq from an AI assistant or MCP client?▾
Yes. Connect ReefAPI once through MCP and your assistant can call opensooq actions with the same key, credit pool and JSON envelope used by normal REST requests.
