How the Zoll-Auktion API scraper - the official German public auction house API works
Zoll-Auktion API scraper - the official German public auction house is a normal ReefAPI surface — the same four rules that hold for every other engine on the key.
No OAuth app, no request signing, no per-site account. One key covers all 321 engines.
Every route is a POST with a JSON body. Parameters are validated against the published schema before anything is charged.
Credits, not seats. Failed and blocked calls are never charged, and cache hits cost nothing.
One envelope everywhere. meta carries latency_ms, record_count and the endpoint that answered.
Read the price label before you read the price
The bold number on a lot is not always the current bid. With zero bids it is the starting price; once someone bids it becomes the current bid. Measured on two live lots: one showed 18,000.00 with 0 bids and a minimum bid of 18,000.00, another showed 16,700.00 with 3 bids and a minimum bid of 16,800.00. The engine publishes price_is so you never have to guess which one you are holding.
{}The 16 root categories with their ids. They match the site's own front-page selector exactly.
{"query": "Ford", "radius_km": 50, "postcode": "48167"}Ten lots a page with the site's real total. Each row carries price, price_display, price_is and bid_count together, so the meaning of the number travels with it.
{"auction_id": 980596}The absolute end time, the collection address and the full description. end_time is null on search rows on purpose: the list only prints a countdown rounded to the minute, and a rounded countdown is not a timestamp.
{"auction_id": 980596}The bid history, when you need to see how the price moved rather than where it landed.
Ten lots a page with the site's real total, each carrying the price together with the label saying whether it is a start price or a live bid, the bid count, the city and postcode, the countdown, and on the detail page the absolute end time and collection address.

}Germany only, in euros, live auctions only, and closed lots eventually disappear
Measured 2026-10-01 against the live gateway: 26 fixed cases run twice with identical results, 120 rows per run for the field counts, plus an independent audit that reloaded the engine the way the pool does. Two of these lines go against us.
Germany only, prices in EUR. The sellers are customs offices, federal, state and municipal authorities.
auction_id, title, url, image, price, price_display, price_is, bid_count, postcode, city, time_left_display and time_left_seconds were filled on 100% of rows in both runs.
The parsed number was compared with the price string the site prints next to it on 240 rows: zero disagreements. Search rows were compared with their own detail pages on 20 lots: 20 of 20 identical.
bid_count above zero always came with a current bid, and zero bids always came with a start price instead: zero violations across the sample.
The site itself does not let you search closed auctions. Closed lots remain readable through product/detail by id, but they drop off the site after a while: one id from a recent auction still answered, an older one was already gone.
The list prints only a countdown rounded to the minute. Rather than convert a rounded countdown into a timestamp, end_time is null on search rows and comes from the detail page, where the site prints the real date. Checked against the site's own countdown: 24 seconds apart, which is the rounding.
A finished auction with zero bids did not sell. sold and final_price are only set when the auction both ended and received at least one bid.
