How the mobile.de API works
mobile.de is a normal ReefAPI surface — the same four rules that hold for every other engine on the key.
No OAuth app, no request signing, no per-site account. One key covers all 252 engines.
Every route is a POST with a JSON body. Parameters are validated against the published schema before anything is charged.
Credits, not seats. Failed and blocked calls are never charged, and cache hits cost nothing.
One envelope everywhere. meta carries latency_ms, record_count and the endpoint that answered.
Diesel estates from dealers near Munich, rated a good price, then the full record of one
search narrows the market with mobile.de's own filters and rating, listing opens one car in full, and VAT-deductible cars come with their net price on both.

A mobile.de result list mixes the car's price with a monthly financing example, a net price, an earlier price, a placeholder price and paid placements. Each looks like an ordinary number on an ordinary row. This engine gives every one its own field.

What was checked, and what mobile.de leaves out
Measured on 2026-09-15: 25 searches and 25 listings in a row with no failure, 46 end-to-end cases including every filter and error, and 15 listings across cars, motorbikes, vans and trucks compared field by field. Four of these lines go against us.
mobile.de, Germany: 1,573,322 cars, 76,355 motorbikes, 62,641 vans up to 7.5 t and 22,218 trucks on 2026-09-15, including listings from dealers in neighbouring countries. Prices in EUR.
Each filter was run against the unfiltered total and every organic row checked: private sellers 362,933, new cars 96,747, VAT-deductible 671,096, 'very good price' 179,070, within 20 km of central Berlin 40,306, BMW 3 Series up to 30,000 EUR 268.
On 15 listings in five groups - dealer cars, private cars, motorbikes, vans and trucks - price, title, mileage, first registration, power and seller type matched between the search row and the listing on every one, and on 6 of them price, mileage, title and first registration matched mobile.de's own listing page.
Net price and VAT rate, the earlier price of a reduced listing, the monthly financing example, the 1 EUR negotiable placeholder and mobile.de's price rating are all separate from price.
Median over 25 calls each: a search 0.65 seconds, a listing 0.66 seconds. The slowest search measured took 1.3 seconds, the slowest listing 1.1 seconds.
Location filtering takes a latitude, longitude and a radius of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 or 500 km. A German postcode on its own is not accepted.
mobile.de puts a paid top ad first under every sort order and adds a sponsored block to page 1 that ignores filters. They are labelled on every row, not removed, so a page can hold more rows than the page size.
mobile.de rates car prices only, and only with enough comparable cars; 6 of 6 cars in the verification carried a rating, no motorbike, van or truck did. Outside cars the model is part of the title, not a separate field.
A private seller's phone number and exact location are left out on purpose; the town and postcode remain. Dealers are named with address, rating and opening hours.

All four mobile.de vehicle classes: cars (1,573,322 listings on 2026-09-15), motorbikes (76,355), vans and light trucks up to 7.5 t (62,641) and trucks over 7.5 t (22,218). makes lists every make per class with the id search accepts; models lists car models, including whole series such as '3er Reihe'. mobile.de publishes a structured model on car listings only - for motorbikes, vans and trucks the model is part of the title.
Do the filters really narrow the results?▾
Each one was checked live on 2026-09-15: the filtered total had to be smaller than the unfiltered one, and every returned row had to match. Out of 1,573,322 cars: private sellers 362,933, dealers 1,207,655, new cars 96,747, damaged only 47,779, VAT-deductible 671,096, rated 'very good price' 179,070, 200 kW and more 199,099, estates 248,300, within 20 km of central Berlin 40,306, and a BMW 3 Series up to 30,000 EUR 268. Invalid values - an unknown fuel, a radius mobile.de does not offer, a price minimum above the maximum - are rejected with an error instead of silently ignored.
How do I tell the price from the financing rate, the net price and the earlier price?▾
price is always the gross consumer price in EUR. price_net and vat_rate appear when the dealer publishes a net price (VAT-deductible vehicles). price_before_reduction is the earlier, higher price of a reduced listing. financing holds mobile.de's monthly financing example - rate, down payment, term, interest - and is never the price. A 1 EUR 'negotiable' placeholder keeps price 1 with price_is_symbolic true.
Are sponsored listings marked?▾
Yes, every row has placement and is_sponsored. top_ad is mobile.de's paid top slot, which stays first under every sort order; eyecatcher is a paid highlight at its normal position; page1_ad is the sponsored block mobile.de adds to page 1 regardless of filters. Nothing is removed and mobile.de's order is kept. On a private-seller search on 2026-09-15, all 20 in-list rows on page 1 were highlighted listings.
What is mobile.de's price rating?▾
mobile.de's own judgement of a car's price against comparable cars: very good, good, reasonable, increased or high price, with the price bands it uses. search can return only one rating level. mobile.de rates cars only and only when it has enough comparable vehicles; otherwise the rating is NO_RATING with mobile.de's reason. Across the 15 verification listings, all 6 cars carried a rating and no motorbike, van or truck did.
Is a private seller's name or phone number included?▾
No. Private sellers publish no name on mobile.de; their phone number, exact coordinates and messenger links are left out, and phone numbers or e-mail addresses typed into their descriptions are masked. The postcode and town remain. Dealers are named with their address, rating, opening hours and homepage; their phone numbers are left out as well unless you explicitly ask for contact data.
Can I get the labels in English?▾
Yes. language switches every text label - fuel, gearbox, seller type, attribute names, condition - between German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, Romanian, Russian, Turkish and Czech. Numbers and ids are identical in every language: on the same listing, price, net price, mileage, power and engine size matched between German and English.
What does mobile.de not publish?▾
A postcode search: search takes a latitude, longitude and radius of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 or 500 km. A price rating for motorbikes, vans or trucks. A structured model outside cars. A damage flag on search rows - listing has it. Mileage on many new cars, which is why they come first when you sort by mileage ascending.
