## How to call
- **Endpoint:** `POST https://api.reefapi.com/forum/v1/<action>` with a JSON body.
- **Auth:** header `x-api-key: <YOUR_REEFAPI_KEY>` — create one free (1,000 credits, no card): https://reefapi.com/signup
- **Response (every call):** `{ ok: boolean, data: ..., meta: { record_count, credits, ... }, error: { code, message } }` — branch on `ok`. Failed calls are free except verified SHEIN NOT_FOUND on product/detail and price (4 credits).
- **One key + one shared credit pool** across every ReefAPI API. Per-call credits are listed on each endpoint below.
- **Use it from an AI agent (MCP):** connect `https://api.reefapi.com/mcp` (remote streamable-http). Send the key as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`, or put it in the URL (`?key=<key>`) when the client has no header field, as ChatGPT does.

## Endpoints

### POST https://api.reefapi.com/forum/v1/latest — 2 credits
Newest topics from one forum, each with its creation time. Ask for the last 24 hours and you get exactly what people opened today.

**Parameters:**
- `site` (enum, required) — Which forum to read. Each one is a live community whose members discuss the tools they use and the problems they hit. [one of: n8n, make, bubble, retool, shopify, biggerpockets, localsearchforum, ecommercefuel, uipath, frappe, shopifydev, openai, cursor, huggingface, discoursemeta, streamlit, namepros, dnforum, ebay, elitetrader, trade2win, esri, betangel, plesk, etsy, powerbi, propertychat, affiliatefix]
- `limit` (integer, optional, default 30) — How many topics to return (1-200). Discourse forums page automatically to reach the number you ask for; RSS feeds return whatever the feed publishes, so the real count can be lower.
- `since_hours` (integer, optional) — Only return topics created within this many hours. Use 24 for what was posted today. Filtering is on the creation time, not the last reply, so an old thread that got a new comment is not returned unless you also set order_by=bumped.
- `order_by` (enum, optional, default "created") — Which timestamp to sort and filter by. Use created to find new questions; use bumped to find threads that are active again. [one of: created, bumped]

**Returns:** site, host, platform, vertical, count, topics[]{title, url, excerpt, created_at, bumped_at, age_hours, replies, views, category, author, id}. created_at and bumped_at are separate on purpose: a topic opened years ago can be bumped today, and treating the bump as the creation date makes an old thread look new.

**Example request body:**
```json
{
  "site": "n8n",
  "limit": 10
}
```

### POST https://api.reefapi.com/forum/v1/sites — 1 credit
Every forum this API can read, with its platform and market.

**Parameters:** none

**Returns:** count, verticals[], sites[]{site, host, platform, vertical}, not_covered[], measured_and_rejected{host: reason}

### POST https://api.reefapi.com/forum/v1/topic — 1 credit
The full text of one topic: the opening post and every reply.

**Parameters:**
- `url` (string, required) — Full URL of a forum topic. Returns the opening post and the replies as plain text.

**Returns:** url, title, created_at, post_count, posts[]{author, created_at, text}. Discourse forums only; an RSS-only forum returns INVALID_PARAM naming the sites that do support it.

**Example request body:**
```json
{
  "url": "https://community.n8n.io/t/n8n-webhooks-made-easy-a-step-by-step-tutorial/56681"
}
```

### POST https://api.reefapi.com/forum/v1/search — 1 credit
Search inside one forum. Results come back in the forum's own relevance order, not by date, so use latest when you need recency.

**Parameters:**
- `site` (enum, required) — Which forum to read. Each one is a live community whose members discuss the tools they use and the problems they hit. [one of: n8n, make, bubble, retool, shopify, biggerpockets, localsearchforum, ecommercefuel, uipath, frappe, shopifydev, openai, cursor, huggingface, discoursemeta, streamlit, namepros, dnforum, ebay, elitetrader, trade2win, esri, betangel, plesk, etsy, powerbi, propertychat, affiliatefix]
- `query` (string, required) — Words to search for inside the forum.
- `limit` (integer, optional, default 30) — How many topics to return (1-200). Discourse forums page automatically to reach the number you ask for; RSS feeds return whatever the feed publishes, so the real count can be lower.

**Returns:** site, query, count, topics[]{title, url, created_at, excerpt, id}. Discourse forums only; an RSS-only forum returns INVALID_PARAM naming the sites that do support it.

**Example request body:**
```json
{
  "site": "n8n",
  "query": "webhook",
  "limit": 10
}
```

## At scale
- **Volume:** 5M+ requests a day, measured at 60 requests a second across the fleet with no
  central bottleneck. Per-key limits are raised for high-volume accounts; volume pricing on request.
- **Missing a source:** tell us a site we do not cover and it becomes an engine. A customer asked
  for bestprice.gr on 21 Sep 2026 and it was in the catalog on 22 Sep.
- **Support:** 2 minute median time from a question in the live chat to the first answer. Setup
  help included, no support tier to buy.
- **One key, one credit pool** across every API. No per-site plans, no separate subscriptions.
