# ContactCars Egypt used-car search and listing detail

> Search a published used-car brand/model slug, first source window only.

## How to call
- **Endpoint:** `POST https://api.reefapi.com/contactcars/v1/<action>` with a JSON body.
- **Auth:** header `x-api-key: <YOUR_REEFAPI_KEY>` — create one free (1,000 credits, no card): https://reefapi.com/signup
- **Response (every call):** `{ ok: boolean, data: ..., meta: { record_count, credits, ... }, error: { code, message } }` — branch on `ok`. Failed calls are free except verified SHEIN NOT_FOUND on product/detail and price (4 credits).
- **One key + one shared credit pool** across every ReefAPI API. Per-call credits are listed on each endpoint below.
- **Use it from an AI agent (MCP):** connect `https://api.reefapi.com/mcp` (remote streamable-http). Send the key as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`, or put it in the URL (`?key=<key>`) when the client has no header field, as ChatGPT does.

## Endpoints

### POST https://api.reefapi.com/contactcars/v1/search — 3 credits
Search a published used-car brand/model slug, first source window only.

**Parameters:**
- `query` (string, required) — Published brand slug (bmw, toyota, kia) or brand-model slug (toyota-corolla, kia-cerato, bmw-320i). A bare model name on its own is not a published route. Verified live 2026-10-05.
- `page` (integer, optional, default 1) — Only the first source window is qualified.
- `limit` (integer, optional, default 5) — Local result cap, up to 25 published rows.

**Returns:** results[]{listing_id,native_id,url,title,price,price_type,currency,mileage_km,images},source_window_count; source_total and has_more unknown/null

Meaningful public used-car detail by the exact route identifier returned by search.

**Parameters:**
- `listing_id` (string, required) — Exact published brand-model/native-id handle from search, or its complete ContactCars used-car URL.

**Returns:** listing_id,native_id,title,seller_title,description,price,price_type,display_price,display_price_type,currency,mileage_km,engine_displacement_cc,transmission,fuel,images,seller,location,gtin

## At scale
- **Volume:** 5M+ requests a day, measured at 60 requests a second across the fleet with no
  central bottleneck. Per-key limits are raised for high-volume accounts; volume pricing on request.
