# CarWale Indian used vehicles

> Search public Indian used-car inventory. Returns summary cards; resolve id in detail for full owner comments, seller, gallery, equipment and status.

## How to call
- **Endpoint:** `POST https://api.reefapi.com/carwale/v1/<action>` with a JSON body.
- **Auth:** header `x-api-key: <YOUR_REEFAPI_KEY>` — create one free (1,000 credits, no card): https://reefapi.com/signup
- **Response (every call):** `{ ok: boolean, data: ..., meta: { record_count, credits, ... }, error: { code, message } }` — branch on `ok`. Failed calls are free except verified SHEIN NOT_FOUND on product/detail and price (4 credits).
- **One key + one shared credit pool** across every ReefAPI API. Per-call credits are listed on each endpoint below.
- **Use it from an AI agent (MCP):** connect `https://api.reefapi.com/mcp` (remote streamable-http). Send the key as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`, or put it in the URL (`?key=<key>`) when the client has no header field, as ChatGPT does.

## Endpoints

### POST https://api.reefapi.com/carwale/v1/search — 3 credits
Search public Indian used-car inventory. Returns summary cards; resolve id in detail for full owner comments, seller, gallery, equipment and status.

**Parameters:**
- `city_id` (integer, optional) — CarWale city id; omit for all India. Mumbai=1, Bangalore=2.
- `fuel` (enum, optional) — Fuel type; measured petrol and diesel. [one of: petrol, diesel]
- `transmission` (enum, optional) — Automatic or manual drivetrain. [one of: automatic, manual]
- `seller_type` (enum, optional) — Dealer stock or direct owner listings. [one of: dealer, private]
- `body_type` (enum, optional) — Measured sedan, hatchback and SUV body styles. [one of: sedan, hatchback, suv]
- `car` (string, optional) — Source make id or make.root id; Maruti Suzuki=10, Swift=10.288. Read source ids from returned attributes.
- `budget` (string, optional) — Source asking-price band in lakh INR, min-max; 0-5 means up to INR 500000. No EMI filtering.
- `page` (integer, optional, default 1) — One-based source page; standard organic allocation 24 with additional promoted rows possible.
- `max_results` (integer, optional, default 24) — Local truncation of one source page, not an upstream page-size guarantee.

**Returns:** listings, authoritative total, observed page size, last_page, has_more, next_page and variable relevance order. Prices are INR used asking amounts; display lakh/crore is retained.

### POST https://api.reefapi.com/carwale/v1/detail — 3 credits
Full public used listing by stock id or canonical URL. Supply either id or url; id alone resolves the source canonical listing.

**Parameters:**
- `id` (string, optional) — Source stock id from search: eight alphanumeric characters or legacy 32-character hex id.
- `url` (string, optional) — Canonical public CarWale used listing URL returned by search.

**Returns:** Full listing id, canonical URL, asking price/display/currency/basis, brand/model/variant/year, odometer km, fuel/transmission, location, public seller, full owner comments, complete gallery, equipment, source attributes and sold/active status. Monthly EMI and new on-road/reference amounts remain separate.

## At scale
- **Volume:** 5M+ requests a day, measured at 60 requests a second across the fleet with no
  central bottleneck. Per-key limits are raised for high-volume accounts; volume pricing on request.
